The Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce of
Hamilton, Ohio and our sister organization, the Hamilton
Economic Development Corporation, HEDC, are working hard to
retain the businesses we have and to assist others in the
attraction of new business to our area.
We partner with the
City of
Hamilton, Ohio;
Butler
County, Ohio and the Cincinnati
USA Partnership to accomplish these goals.
The City of Hamilton has historically focused its economic
status around the manufacturing sector. As the economy and
business sectors have changed over the years, away from more
traditional manufacturing to advanced manufacturing, service and
information technology sectors, Hamilton, Ohio has made great
strides in evolving and diversifying its business portfolio as
well. Hamilton, Ohio and Butler County, Ohio as a whole exhibit
a diverse economic base accompanied by growth in all sectors,
including industrial, retail, service and residential. With
approximately 1,700 establishments, Hamilton, Ohio is a major
regional center of business and industry.

Manufacturing Consortium
The Southwest Ohio Manufacturers’ Consortium (SWOMC) is a group
of companies operating in Butler County, Ohio and contiguous
counties.
Achievements
These companies shared a common concern: their ability to
consistently attract and retain qualified, loyal candidates for
manufacturing jobs in the area. The group recognized that the
ability to hire and retain good, qualified people was critical--
not only for sustaining viability in their own companies, but
also for the future economic development of the Southwest Ohio
region.
As a result of these concerns, the Southwest Ohio
Manufacturers' Consortium held a Pre-employment Training Program

Downtown Special Improvement
District (SID) Incentive Program
IMPROVE Program
(Incentives to Maintain Proper Restoration Of Valuable Edifices)
Businesses located in
downtown Hamilton can take advantage of the Hamilton, Ohio
Downtown Special Improvement District's (SID) building
assistance program to downtown Hamilton, Ohio's
building/business owners.
The purpose of the program is to help the SID's downtown
building/business owners improve the exterior facades of their
downtown buildings and/or businesses.
Only building and/or business owners with buildings and/or
businesses that are located within the Downtown Special
Improvement District may apply for this program. The
approximate boundaries of the SID are High street on the north,
Martin Luther King Boulevard on the east, Ludlow Avenue on the

Incubators
The purpose of a business incubator is to nurture young firms,
helping them to survive and grow during the startup period when
they are most vulnerable. They offer entrepreneurial firms
shared office services, access to equipment, flexible leases and
expandable space all under one roof. Incubators provide hands on
management assistance, access to financing, training and
orchestrated exposure to critical and technical support

Located in the heart of the City of Hamilton, Ohio at
BizTech Center is our
Small Business Development Center. The SBDC provides free
assistance and consulting services for existing and start up
businesses. The SBDC services include: Business plan
development, Business Management, Marketing strategy, Financial
Management, Professional & technical referrals, information &
resources, Mentorship, and Training.
Access Business Development & Finance, Inc.
This organization's
mission is to help small
businesses realize their development and expansion goals.
They serve Southwest Ohio
and offer SBA 504 financing. The purpose of the 504 loan
program is to enable small businesses to finance up to 90% of
fixed assets with 3 benefits: Low Down Payments, Long Terms, and
