He is the author of a bestselling trilogy of biographies about U.S President Theodore Roosevelt, for which he has won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. In 1985, he was appointed President Ronald Reagan’s official biographer. Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan was published in September, 1999 and became a New York Times bestseller.
