Simplified Statement on Health Orders
As of 5/17/21, the following health orders are in effect: (paraphrased for simplicity) from https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/static/publicorders/rev-2nd-final-amended-do-soc-dist-remove-face-cover-21.pdf
*When indoors, vaccinated persons may remove masks as the risk of COVID-19 infection is minimal for fully vaccinated people.
However, unvaccinated persons are instructed to continue to wear masks and maintain social distancing when indoors until June 2, and they are encouraged to continue to wear masks after June 2. Regardless of a person's vaccination status, masks still need to be worn in special situations named in the health orders from ODH and CDC, that is: nursing homes, schools, healthcare settings*.
*In addition, according to the health order, private businesses may require all patrons to wear masks regardless of vaccination status, if they so choose.
Individuals may continue to wear masks, if they so choose.
*Health care settings are defined by the CDC as "places where healthcare is delivered and includes, but is not limited to, acute care facilities, long term acute care facilities, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, home healthcare, vehicles where healthcare is delivered (e.g., mobile clinics), and outpatient facilities, such as dialysis centers, physician offices, and others." This does not include settings within healthcare organizations that are 100% administrative (no clinical services provided).
