The City of Hamilton Department of Economic Development offers unique advantages to new or growing businesses. Equipped with a variety of business assistance programs, the City of Hamilton works to support local companies with technical assistance and access to a portfolio of financial programs including competitive utility rates, state and local tax incentives, as well as job training programs.
The City of Hamilton works closely with regional, state, and federal agencies to combine these programs for the greatest benefit to our companies. Our Economic Development Department team will work with you to tailor everything our great city has to offer to fit the needs of your business.
The Chamber leads a group of area manufacturers who meet monthly to discuss issues that are most directly related to manufacturing. A common theme is workforce development and training workers for the demands of businesses for today and future needs. The Chamber manages a training fund that is available to local businesses for approved training for incumbent workers. We can also connect you to other training sources for your workforce. If you are interested in participating or learning more, contact the Chamber.
Helping to Solve the "Skills Gap" Problem:
We continue to hear concerns from businesses related to the topic of finding and keeping qualified workers. One of the specific concerns is that the people applying for jobs don't have the skills necessary to perform the jobs that are available. We are helping to deal with this problem with Skills Central which is a supportive workforce development initiative sponsored by the Greater Hamilton of Commerce and the Hamilton Community Foundation. Skills Central services are offered to job-seekers in the Greater Hamilton area and is designed to help individuals get the job skills needed to build a successful future.
